You’ve heard of Michael, the warrior. Gabriel, the messenger. Raphael, the healer. But Uriel? Uriel is the one they don’t teach you about in Sunday school. Too intense. Too ancient. Too much fire for a world still trying to pretend its darkness isn’t self-made.
Archangel Uriel—“Flame of God”—is the light that doesn’t comfort but convicts. He isn’t here to pat you on the back. He’s here to strike the match that forces you to wake up.
Uriel’s name is not found in most modern Bibles because the Church feared his powerful association with prophecy, fire, and apocalypse. But in the ancient texts—the Book of Enoch, 2 Esdras, and early Christian mysticism—he is very much present:
Uriel is the archangel of conscience, clarity, and karmic judgment. He is the divine flame that burns away illusion, denial, ego, and delusion.
He doesn’t fight your battles—he gives you the truth that makes you ready to fight your own.
He doesn’t heal your wounds—he shows you why you got hurt in the first place.
He doesn’t send messages—he sets your mind on fire so you can hear the truth for yourself.
Uriel rules over:
In esoteric systems like Kabbalah, Uriel governs the North and is associated with Earth and Fire—a paradox of grounded presence and burning spirit. In alchemy, he is the flame beneath the crucible, igniting transmutation. In some Christian mystical lineages, he was even identified as the angel who rolled back the stone from Christ’s tomb—symbolizing the illumination of hidden truths and resurrection power.
Some traditions also associate Uriel with the solar plexus or crown chakra, depending on whether you're working from fire (ego purification) or light (divine connection).
To invoke or work with Uriel:
Uriel doesn’t whisper.
He doesn’t seduce with soft wings or sweet words.
He arrives like lightning when you’re stuck in spiritual sleep.
You don’t call on Uriel for what you want.
You call on Uriel when you’re ready to know what’s real.
He is the divine flame that clears the fog.
The sword of fire that stands between your illusions and your evolution.
The light you can’t unsee once it touches you.
If you’ve ever been struck by a sudden knowing, a painful truth, or a fire inside that refuses to die until you change—that was Uriel.
